The One Day National Symposium on Nuclear Medicine: An Indispensable Tool for Management of Diseases was conducted with an intention to teach students and researchers about the various uses of radio isotopes, various diagnostic tests, production of radio isotopes etc. Nuclear medicine is a specialized area of medicine which uses small amounts of radio-pharmaceuticals to diagnose and treat various diseases. The speakers of the symposium were well versed in the field of Nuclear medicine. This symposium generated awareness and evoked interest in the research community regarding nuclear medicine, its role to diagnose and treat abnormalities. Progression of a disease such as cancer, use of Nuclear Imaging to visualize of an organ, to study organ functions etc.
