Machine Learning for Biology- 12th and 13th October

Artificial intelligence and Machine Learning techniques are emerging data driven approaches to make predictions and interpretations which have applications ranging from weather forecast, customer behaviour analysis, to genome annotations and pharmaceutical discovery. Machine Learning is the application of computer algorithms to deconstruct data, interpret it and use that information to make predictions about new datasets. Recent advances is ‘omics’ technologies which generate huge volume of biological data in an unprecedented speed and accuracy, coupled with availability of state of art computer hardware, virtually infinite storage and parallel processing capabilities have enormously increased the application of Artificial Intelligence techniques to simulate biological phenomena.
Department of Biosciences,  Union Christian College is organising a two day webinar series in Machine Learning on October 12 and October 13. Ms. Suma L. S,  Asst. Professor, IHRD College of Engineering,  Karunagappally and Dr. Silpa Bhaskaran, Research Associate, University of Kerala are the resource persons. Basic concepts of Machine Learning, methods like neural networks, genetic algorithms and support vector machines etc will be discussed.
For further details and webinar credentials, please see the flyer attached.
E-certificates will be provided.
